How We Install Your Fascia and Soffits
We start by erecting our Easi-Dec scaffold system to the required elevation, giving us safe, stable access across the full width of your roofline. The existing guttering, fascia and soffit are stripped back to the bare rafters, and we inspect every rafter for signs of rot before any new material goes on. Anything that needs attention is dealt with at this stage.
Once the structure is sound, we fit our solid uPVC fascia and soffit boards, followed by the rainwater goods. We then install our full roofline protection system, including a hidden ventilation system, eaves protector and bird comb filler, to ensure your roof is properly sealed and protected against the elements. All joints and edges are cleaned and finished with a low-modulus sealant against the masonry.
The scaffold is then dropped, and we move to the next elevation, working our way around the property until the job is complete. All debris is removed and disposed of in our own skips, leaving your property clean and tidy.
We are currently installing Linear 20mm fascia with 10mm soffit and KAYFLOW rainwater goods.
FAQ`s for Fascias and Soffits
The fascia is the vertical board fixed directly to the ends of your roof rafters — it’s the board your guttering attaches to. The soffit sits horizontally underneath the fascia, bridging the gap between the fascia and the wall. Both work together to seal and protect the roofline.
uPVC fascias and soffits typically last 20 to 30 years with minimal maintenance. Unlike timber, they won’t rot, warp or need repainting, making them the most practical long-term choice for most homes.
In most cases, no. Replacing fascias and soffits is considered maintenance and does not require planning permission. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, it’s worth checking with your local council before proceeding.
Bargeboards are the boards that run along the gable end of your roof, covering the exposed roof timbers. If your property has a gable roof, you’ll have bargeboards. If they’re timber and showing signs of rot or deterioration, replacing them with uPVC is a sensible long-term fix.
Yes — and it often makes sense to do so. When we replace fascias, the guttering has to come down anyway. Replacing guttering and downpipes at the same time saves on labour costs and means everything is new, matching and properly fitted.
